05.10.2022On September 28-29, Europe’s space community came together with 1,700 participants from 800 companies in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, as part of the ESA Industry Space Days. The event served to promote collaboration and the exchange of ideas and expertise through partnerships in the space sector. The focus lay on increasing the participation of SMEs in space activities.
In addition to presentations by the ESA Directorate General, ESA Directors, investors and institutional partners in the conference part, participants were also able to enjoy the exhibition with 150 booths and various B2B opportunities. To facilitate networking and the establishing of new business contacts, the event included: pre-arranged one-to-one meetings, exhibitions highlighting the innovations and expertise of selected SMEs, briefings on business opportunities by large groups and institutional organisations, and conferences on space perspectives and market trends.
Also participating in the ESA Industry Space Days was PhySens, the startup of the ESA BIC Northern Germany. For the incubatee, it was a great opportunity to present its technology as a downstream space innovation. The company had fruitful conversations with founders from other ESA BICs at the ESA BIC booth, was able to meet ESA BIC representatives in person, and gained helpful insights from experienced founders through panel discussions. This made the ESA Industry Space Days a great opportunity for PhySens to get in touch with different people from the space industry and to expand its own international network.
