Don’t miss this at the Space Tech Expo 2022
10.11.2022Lift Off for Space Tech Expo Europe 2022 in Bremen
21.11.2022500 companies, 5.000 experts from around the world
From Tuesday, November 15th 2022 on, the international space community will meet for the 5th time in the “City of Space” Bremen. The event is Europe’s largest sector event in the space industry. “We expect more than 500 exhibiting space companies on site and 5,000 experts from all over the world in Bremen. This will make the fair the largest since it started in 2015,” says Kristina Vogt, Minister for Economics, Labour and Europe and adds: “The Space Tech Expo in Bremen is a top international event that has quickly become a fixed date for the entire industry!”
This year’s Space Tech Expo Europe takes place at an extremely important time, especially for the European space community: the ESA Ministerial Council conference lays ahead of us. The week following the trade fair in Bremen, the ESA Ministerial Conference will decide on the space budget for the upcoming years. “Space Tech Expo Europe is once again and the final opportunity for industry representatives to discuss the framework conditions and express requirements to the German federal government,” says Minister Vogt.
The German federal state of Bremen uses this home run as a host with the Bremen City of Space exhibition booth. Under the motto “Launch Your Career in Bremen”, visitors are invited to find out more about the aeronautics and space industry and the training and study opportunities in Bremen. The humanoid robot Pepper will answer visitors’ questions about space activities in the German federal state of Bremen. Minister Vogt: “Startups can find out more about the opportunities at the Bremen location directly from the ESA Business Incubation Centre Northern Germany.” This Startup and SME booth is jointly operated by ESA BIC, ESA SME, Best of Space and SME for Space. AVIASPACE BREMEN e.V. and BremenInvest organized and designed the booth, respectively.
The name “Space Tech Expo Europe” says it all: the international space sector – from Europe and beyond – represents itself at the fair as exhibitors or visiting delegations. For example, many Dutch, Belgian, British, Italian, Polish and Spanish companies will present their products and services over the next three days. Company delegations, for example from Portugal, France and Lithuania, are also expected.
Enterprise Europe Network Bremen offers once again a free B2B matchmaking for the participants of the Space Tech Expo Europe. The Bremen consortium of the world’s largest business network – coordinated by the Ministry of Economics Affairs, Labour and Europe – gives the participants the opportunity to make new business contacts in 20-minutes, beforehand organized talks and to exchange ideas on new joint projects. This matchmaking also reflects the international nature of Space Tech Expo Europe. More than 1,000 participants from almost 60 nations and almost 3,000 discussions are expected at the matchmaking.
This year, once again a special focus lies on the space collaboration between the regions of Zuid-Holland and Bremen, which exists since 2019. During Space Tech Expo Europe this collaboration will be reconfirmed in the presence of Minister Vogt and Minister Stolk from Zuid-Holland with the publication of the new edition of the so-called “Action Agenda”, i.e. the agreed concrete activities. In the coming years, successful pilot projects will be built on and collaboration in areas such as digitization and materials research will be promoted. Interested parties and the press are invited to attend the networking event on November 15, 2022 at 12:00 at the NL Space booth.
