Roadshow at SWMS in Oldenburg

Insights into innovative digital industrial solutions for the aerospace industry

On 13 June 2024, an exciting company visit took place as part of the AVIASPACE Roadshow at SWMS Systemtechnik Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH in Oldenburg. The occasion was the opening of the new SWMS headquarters. The event attracted many members of AVIASPACE BREMEN e.V. who were interested in the latest developments in the field of digital industrial solutions.

About SWMS

SWMS Systemtechnik Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH moved into its new home in the Oldenburg Technology Park in spring 2024. As a leading technology company, SWMS specialises in the development of customer-specific software and solutions for virtual product development. The company serves customers from highly competitive high-tech industries such as aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding and wind power. Particularly noteworthy are the five current cooperation projects with various research institutions in the field of additive manufacturing, specifically 3D printing. These projects emphasise SWMS’s commitment to innovative technologies and their application in industry.

Jan Mohrmann, founder and Managing Director of SWMS, welcomed the participants and gave them an insight into the company: ‘Our mission is to create added value for our customers through advanced digital solutions and technologies and to help shape the future of industrial production.’

Lars Windels, co-founder and Managing Director of SWMS, then presented the topic of ‘Large-format additive manufacturing’, which aroused great interest among the participants.

The second presentation was given by Dr Marco Lewandowski. The Managing Director of SWMS Consulting GmbH focussed on the topic of ‘Digital twin – from data to administration shell to product passport’ and offered in-depth insights into the digital processes and technologies that SWMS uses in its projects.

A highlight of the visit was the tour of the new SWMS facilities and the demonstration of robot-based 3D printing. The participants were able to experience the innovative technologies up close and see their practical applications for themselves.

The company visit to SWMS provided the members of AVIASPACE BREMEN e.V. with valuable insights into the latest technological developments and innovative approaches in the field of digital industrial solutions and additive manufacturing. The event was a complete success and promoted exchange and cooperation between the members.
