NEW YEAR’S RECEPTION OF THE CITY OF AEROSPACE “100 YEARS OF AIRCRAFT CONSTRUCTION BREMEN” IN BERLIN

The New Year’s reception of the City of Aerospace “100 Years of Aircraft Construction Bremen” is the kick-off event for many other events and marketing campaigns in this anniversary year. For this reason, industry players came together yesterday (Thursday) at the Bremen State Representation in Berlin to exchange ideas and network.

Dr Anna Christmann, Federal Government Coordinator of German Aerospace Policy, Siegfried Monser, Space Coordinator in German federal state of Bremen and Hans-Georg Tschupke, Head of Department in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, gave welcoming speeches. The background: 100 years ago, the aircraft pioneers Henrich Focke and Georg Wulf started the operation of “Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau A.G.” and founded a new era of aviation in the state of Bremen. Today, the aerospace industry is a key pillar of Bremen’s economy. This is why Bremen is celebrating its anniversary year in 2024.

Where is the journey heading?  The future of aviation will not only lie in pure aircraft construction, but will become an important part of a system of mobility, energy and security. Both the state of Bremen and the northern German partner states are very well positioned for the future: Together (industry, science and politics), the challenges of climate-friendly aviation are being tackled.
