Delegation trip to Scotland from 09 – 12 September 2024
09. 09. 2024 - 12. 09. 2024
The Scottish space sector is developing rapidly. Scotland is committed to building a complete space ecosystem and is relying on its extensive capabilities with abundant talent, production, research and development expertise, launch services and data analytics. Since 2016, the Scottish space market has developed outstandingly with an average annual growth of over 10% p.a.
Scotland is a powerhouse in the manufacture of small satellites and is now one of the largest manufacturers of small satellites in the world. Companies such as Alba Orbital, AAC Clyde Space and Spire benefit from holistic supply chains, and manufacturers of satellite components and subsystems have settled in the Glasgow area in particular. In addition, the production of microlaunchers has become established and several spaceports are under development. At the Edinburgh site, the IT, Downstream Applications and Robotics divisions in particular have developed. The entrepreneurial activities are complemented by university research and training, especially in the two major cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
As part of a visit by a large Scottish space delegation to Bremen on the occasion of Space Tech Expo Europe 2023, the invitation to a Bremen return visit to Scotland was issued. Therefore, Aviaspace Bremen e.V., in cooperation with the Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation, hereby invites interested players from the local space scene to participate in a delegation trip to Scotland from 09 – 12 September 2024 led by the Senator for Economics, Ports and Transformation, Kristina Vogt.
Visits to companies, research institutions and companies, networking events and a visit to the Space Comm Scotland (https://space-comm-scotland.co.uk/) trade fair, which will be held in Scotland for the first time, are planned.
