Welcome to an exhilarating journey at the intersection of aerospace and space exploration! We’re thrilled to announce a unique hackathon challenge that invites you to generate innovative use-cases around the orbital, suborbital, and hypersonic capabilities of a spaceplane within various market segments. This is your chance to dive deep into the potential of spaceplanes and explore their applications.
For this challenge, participants will be equipped with a spaceplane trajectory simulation software, ensuring you have the tools needed to bring your visionary ideas to life. But that’s not all – you’ll also be supported by a team of experienced mentors from diverse backgrounds, ready to guide you through every aspect of the challenge.
Here’s what makes this hackathon an unmissable opportunity:
Exclusive Access to the European Spaceplane Summit: All hackathon participants will receive complimentary access to the European Spaceplane Summit for the duration of the event. This provides a unique chance to gather firsthand insights and knowledge from the leading minds in the European Spaceplane Community.
Pitch Your Idea: The climax of the hackathon will see you presenting your pitch in front of attendees at the European Spaceplane Summit. This is an unique opportunity to showcase your innovative use case and accompanying business plan to an audience of space industry professionals and enthusiasts.
Team Formation and Structure: Participants will be organized into five groups of five team mebers. You will have two days to brainstorm, develop your use case, and prepare an accompanying business plan. The challenge culminates with a pitch session in front of the European Spaceplane Summit participants, consisting of a 5-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A.
Prizes: The stakes are high with attractive prizes for the top three teams. The first-place team will be awarded €250, a three-month LEOconomy & POLARIS mentorship program, and free tickets to next year’s European Spaceplane Summit. The second-place team will receive €100 and free tickets for next year’s summit, while the third-place team will be awarded €50 as a group prize.
Jury: Your innovations will be judged by a panel of esteemed space industry leaders from Spaceport Cornwall, Airbus Defense & Space, team neusta, ESA BIC, and POLARIS, ensuring your ideas receive the recognition they deserve.
How to Participate: If you’re a student or a young professional under the age of 30 and passionate about making a mark in the space industry, we invite you to send your application to ess@polaris-rfz.de. We will select 25 participants from all applications and notify the chosen individuals personally.
